Hamilton was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in the year 1892 and went on to produce its first watch the following year. Hamilton went on to manufacture quality wrist watches as well as pocket watches in America until 1969 at which time the company was incorporated into the Swatch Group. Hamilton then continued the design and manufacture process in Bienne Switzerland
